A Wedding ceremony program is a document that gives guests information to guide them through the wedding ceremony. It traditionally outlines the proceedings and includes the names of everyone participating in the ceremony.
Why get Wedding Programs? They give you another way to add a personal touch to your day. If your budget can handle the cost, you can design a program that shows off your wedding's style. Customized Programs that matches with your other stationery can say a lot about you and your new spouse. It's a nice way to give a shout-out to the bridal party. To get your wedding guests familiar with who's walking down the aisle besides you and the groom, including short bios of your peeps in the program is a sweet gesture. If you forgo programs, you can post the bios on your wedding website instead. They keep guests cool If you're getting married on a warm day at a ceremony that's outdoors or in an un-air-conditioned house of worship, shape the program like a fan so guests can cool themselves off with it. |
Seating charts are usually displayed alphabetically or by table in a pretty frame near the entrance of the reception. Seating charts list your guests' names with their designated tables. Additionally, place cards may be used at each table to designate assigned seats.
Assigned seating is not mandatory, but does help to make things a little more simple for your guests. NOTE:
If doing assigned seating please ensure that your seating chart is in a sturdy frame that can withstand the wind factor of outdoor weddings. |
ESCORT CARDS
Escort Cards are the more informal sibling of place cards, and direct guests to a table rather than a seat. Once guests get to their table, if there are no place cards, they're free to choose their own seats. Escort cards are usually all placed in a grouping just before the entrance to the reception and include the name of your guest as well as the table number/name where they will be seated. If using escort cards a seating chart is not needed. |
PLACE CARDS Place cards are more specific than escort cards and are also more formal than escort cards. A place card not only directs guests to the table where they will sit during the reception, but also points each guest to his or her particular seat by being placed at each place setting around the table. Since place cards are already at the table, there is no need for them to have the table number on them. If using Place Cards a seating chart is needed to direct guests to their respective tables. Once at the table they will find their respective seats based on the place cards. |
Wedding Dinner Menu Cards are not a requirement, but they are great for communicating the details of the meal to your guests and for adding your personal touch to the wedding decor. The menu cards are often displayed at each place setting or one at the center of each table. They can be used no matter the style of meal you will be serving, whether it is buffet or plated. |
A wedding favour is a gift, usually small that is given as a token of appreciation to your guests. The main aim of a wedding favour is to thank your guests for taking part in your wedding and sharing in your special moment. While wedding favours are an excellent way to celebrate your Big Day with your guests, it is important to note that they are not mandatory.
Edible Favours
Why are edible wedding favors always the best wedding idea? Um, because you can eat them. No wedding guest forgets an edible favor on their chair or on the table by the exit. Here are a few edible favours that are perfect for an island wedding. |

Practical Favours
If not edible favours, you can also go the route of practical favours. Most Jamaican weddings are hosted outdoors, be it a beach or garden wedding. Some practical favours include but are not limited to fans, sunglasses and paper parasols to name a few.

Get creative with your wedding cake topper or skip the tradition all together.
Cake toppers are a fun way of reflecting your unique personalities and can be done with a modern cake topper which would include your name or initials, or a floral cake topper (silk or fresh flowers ) or a phrase that you like. Do you have to have a cake toppers? The simple answer is no. Most cake designs are gorgeous enough where a topper is not needed, what it comes down to is your personal preference. |
