It's the first day of Spring 2020, the Wedding Day of Timari & Andrew Schewizer. Traveling from Colorada they chose to have a private Wedding instead of a typical resort wedding at their hotel (Beaches Hotel Ocho Rios) It was our pleasure working with them to create their Dream Destination Wedding in Jamaica and helping to book this heavily sought after wedding venue, Laughing Waters Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The Schweizer's wedding at Laughing Waters Ocho Rios Jamaica was a Jewish Ceremony held on the beach with a tented reception in the gardens. It's always great working with new clients as we get a taste of their traditions and are always happy to do things a little differently. Let's have a look at how Timari & Andy celebrated their Jewish Wedding in Jamaica... The Chuppah: The wedding ceremony took place under the chuppah (we call it a canopy), a symbol of the home that the new couple will build together. It is open on all sides to welcome people in unconditional hospitality. Head Coverings: Kippah Male guests were provided with Kippahs, which are skull caps. The Kippah is worn as a sign of reverence and humility. Timari & Andy provided the Kippah at the ceremony, so guests did not have to bring their own. A table was provided at the entrance of the wedding ceremony with the Kippahs and pins. The Processional Timari walks down the aisle with her dad Both sets of parents stand underneath the chuppah during the ceremony, alongside the bride, groom, and rabbi. Today's Rabbi was Mr. Stephen Henriques.
The Seven Blessings: Sheva B'rachot The seven blessings focuses on joy, celebration, and the power of love and are recited over a cup of wine during the latter part of the proceedings. The are usually recited in Hebrew though they may be translated into English as well.
Breaking of the Glass As the ceremony comes to an end, the groom (or in some instances the bride and groom) is invited to step on a glass inside a cloth bag to shatter it. This demonstrates that marriage holds sorrow as well as joy and is a representation of the commitment to stand by each other even in hard times. The cloth holding the shards of glass is collected after the ceremony, and many couples choose to have it incorporated into some sort of memento of their wedding day.
What's a wedding blog without some BrideSquad action! Reception FlowDusty Blue, Ivory & Silver reception decor with a touch of rustic mahogany chiavari chairs Tall lush centrepiece with hydrangeas and Roses Love Letter from the Bride & Groom Price-Point, Presentation, Perfection! Shelli and the team did an amazing job to accommodate all of our requests, making our wedding day even more beautiful than imagined and exceeding our expectations. Our family raved about the decor and location. The food and presentation were exceptional; the entertainment, photography crew and the master of ceremonies were perfect! We had a traditional Jewish ceremony, which Shelli did an amazing job to accommodate, from the Ketubah display to the Hora dance. It rained that day (lucky us!) but the Bandoo Event Solutions team was ready with a covering for the ceremony, as well as the cocktail area. Looking back, as many of our friends are currently planning nuptials, I wouldn't go with any other planner, and I wouldn't choose to do everything myself. It was exactly what we wanted, and aside from the decisions every couple must make; food selection, music choices, etc., they made this a truly hassle-free experience. If you're interested in using specific elements of their planning service, each separate entity offered: decor, food, lighting, was wonderful and they really worked with our budget! It's summer time in Jamaica and the season for weddings is officially here! With so many venues to choose from The hibiscus Lodge in Ocho Rios is a fantastic choice. Ocean view locations and an indoor air conditioned room for receptions. Our fantastic couple sought to start their new lives together as husband and wife with close family and friends at the Crows Nest at the Lodge overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It was our delight being with them and being a part of their celebration of love. Beautiful white arbor draped with lavender fabric and adorned with gorgeous floral arrangements. White chiavari chairs accentuated with hydrangeas. Let's take a closer look at this gorgeous arrangement... Wedding Ceremony decor: Bandoo Events Solutions. Our King & Queen reigned supreme around this sweetheart table dressed in rosette linen and a fabulous floral arrangement topped off with pillar candles. Love Letter from the Bride & Groom To begin with, my husband and I were very new to the whole wedding organisation and preparations, all we really knew is that we wanted to marry one another. Before working with Bandoo we had another wedding venue and planner who really confused and disappointed us, with unforeseen costs and not to mention sooooo many restrictions. Thankfully we met Shelli and Esther around 7 months before we were due to get married. And not once did they make us feel that our vision for our big day would not be fulfilled. They were very clear, specific and most of all very patient with us and really took the time to get all the fine details to make sure that nothing was missed. The majority of the communication was with Shelli via email and this was 10/10 as she was very responsive, friendly and efficient. Shelli made sure she got all the right songs for the right moments. We communicated back and forth about the theme, colour and decorations as she was committed to get everything right. She was very accommodating with the financial transactions and kept the contract/invoice up-to-date and clear, even though we had numerous changes. She made sure everything was clean and clear for us so there was no surprises! On the day of the wedding, we could not believe how everything pulled together and how beautiful it was. All the fine details were there before us and the whole day just felt like a dream come true. Just to add, the photographer, DJ, MC and waiters/waitresses that Shelli had chosen for us made all the difference. Absolutely everyone was so lovely and friendly, especially the MC who was full of vibes!!!! Shelli and Esther, we can not thank you enough! We thank God that we had the opportunity to work with you to make our dream come true. We pray that Bandoo Events Solutions continue to prosper, as we will forever sing your praises and recommend your services... we already have :) Thank you endlessly Best, Mr and Mrs Clarke xxx Wedding venue: Hibiscus Lodge Ocho Rios
